The Palace of the Despots was unfortunately closed when we went there. Apparently it includes a lot of detail about the lives of the ordinary inhabitants of Mistra as well as a recreation of the inside of a Byzantine house. I shall have to go back when work has been finished. Knowing Greek efficiency that should only take a decade or so. The Minoan city of Akroti has been closed since 2005 and all it needed was a new roof.
